Hood Canal, Washington is an interesting diving destination. As soon as you exit onto Hwy 101 toward Shelton on the home stretch to Hoodsport and further North to Mike's Beach you realize you have clearly driven out of the metro corridor of Olympia, Tacoma, and Seattle. With this in mind, it is always great to find gems of places to stop and eat either before or after a day of diving.
This past weekend was no exception as a group of us Seven Seas Divers stumbled upon the most unassuming yet greatest of places to get some hot down home cooking at that put us right for the drive home. This experience led to the idea to collect and share recommended Hood Canal eatery information here on the blog.

Their restaurant motto, "Down home cooking with an Uptown Flair..." is very fitting as this place has a huge variety of food to select from including daily specials you would expect to see on a menu in the Pearl District. Steak and seafood is a menu feature along with fresh homemade dark bread. Suzan does not skimp on portions so you really get your monies worth! Family friendly!

The Staff's favorite place to eat in the canal. Best Prime Rib and burgers on the canal! Yum yum for the tum tum! Great one-room pub house local atmosphere. Co-owned by a former scuba instructor, so they are accustomed to readying themselves for hungry divers. If you have a large group wanting to get together for dinner, it is suggested to call ahead to see if they have a big table open then rally your troops!

Lunch and dinner are also great (you can also call in orders to pick-up and go - breakfast on the boat!). Wonderful local casual atmosphere with solidly great food. Large portions. Family friendly.
