PACIFIC NORTHWEST

Shipwreck Wednesday brings you the wreck of the AJ FULLER sunk in 1918 after being rammed by the Japanese steamer Mexico Maru. She was laden down with 48,000 cases of salmon and 4000 barrels of salt fish and found her way to the sea floor in 225 feet of water. Luckily the crew was ashore and the mate and watchman were able to escape unharmed. Captain Henry Finch, a Seattle deep sea diver, investigated the wreck 6 months later recovering the ship's compass intact. That is some hairball diving for 1918!! CALIFORNIA COAST

Shipwreck Wednesday brings you the BROTHER JONATHAN, a paddle steamer who held famous passengers and loot to boot! While the wreck occurred close to shore, its discovery escaped explorers for more than 125 years. Although the wreckage was discovered in 1993, crates of gold still remain hidden and undisturbed. The large safe it was carrying with its millions of dollars of jewels, gold bars, and gold has yet to be found. The salvors estimate that 4/5ths of the treasure is still waiting to be discovered—mere miles from land...
